Kenya governor faces backlash after putting Hennessy bottles in coronavirus care packages


According to a recent report by CNN, Sonko, the governor of the Kenyan capital city of Nairobi is facing criticism and backlash after confirming to media Tuesday that he placed several small bottles of Hennessy in his care packages. When asked to justify his actions, the Kenyan Mayor asserted that the small bottles of Hennessy serve as throat sanitizers. The statement released by the company Hennessy, in part it reads as follows. "Hennessy would like to stress that the consumption of our brand and any other alcoholic beverages does not protect against the virus." The World Health Organization warned on Tuesday that alcohol consumption could prove to be hazardous in trying to combat the notorious coronavirus. Noting that it actually weakens the immune system.
